When you’re planning travel from Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), making sure you choose the best airline can make all the difference in your journey, no matter where you’re headed.

With a plethora of airlines operating from LAS, with each offering a variety of unique benefits, services, and negatives, it can sometimes feel overwhelming to determine which airline best fits your needs. Therefore, whether you value in-flight amenities and luxury, access to the broadest range of destinations, or want to travel as low budget as possible, this list will guide you through the best options and help pinpoint discover which airline is the best for you to fly from Las Vegas. We’ve pulled from both our personal experiences, online consensus, and flight data to compile a list of our recommendations for airlines to travel from Las Vegas based on cost, on-time percentage, amenities, overall customer experience, and more.

Without further discussion, let’s jump into the list!

The Best Airlines to Fly From Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport

1. Best for Most Destinations - Southwest Airlines

Our first recommended airline to fly from Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport is Southwest Airlines. There’s no way around it, Southwest is a controversial pick: with no pre-flight seat selection, the infamous system issues, and the sometimes-questionable point redemptions, many people dislike flying on Southwest.

However, if you’re planning to fly any airline from Las Vegas, Southwest needs to be one of the airlines that you consider, as they fly to more destinations from Las Vegas than almost any other airline. Besides missing out on the Northeast of the USA, Southwest offers frequent flights to almost every domestic US region, and offers multiple times per day to many key destinations.

See below for the full list of flight destinations offered by Southwest from Las Vegas:

Plus, Chase Bank lets you transfer your Ultimate Rewards Points directly to Southwest at a 1:1 ratio, which drastically increases the reserve of points/miles you can pull on for making your award reservations! While Southwest may not be as valuable a Chase transfer partner as Hyatt or other airlines, you can still get consistently decent value by transferring your points to Southwest.

While some people will forever dislike Southwest, it is an excellent option to consider from Las Vegas, especially if you’re hoping to travel on the cheaper side.

2. Best for Budget - Frontier Airlines

Now, if you’re looking to travel as cheaply as possible from Las Vegas International Airport, Frontier Airlines is likely the best option for you! With over twenty different destinations within the domestic USA, Frontier offers a bare-essentials service that will get you where you need to go with no extra costs (or amenities). Flying on Frontier will not be the most pleasant or luxurious customer experience. Still, Frontier’s whole value proposition is built on offering basic services for half the price of other airlines.

However, while Frontier list prices are cheap, they charge added costs for every single added benefit; seat choice, checked bag, extra carry-on bag, the list goes on. If it is possible for your trip, we recommend aiming to travel with as little baggage as possible and to prioritize Frontier for flights under 2 hours (e.g., from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City or Phoenix). If you’re travelling further, such as to Chicago or Tampa Bay, you may want to consider paying the extra cost for an airline with a more comfortable set-up and a more consistent service.

3. Best for Amenities - Delta Air Lines

If you’re hoping to fly from Las Vegas with as many amenities as possible, Delta Air Lines is going to be the best option for you!

Delta offers free wi-fi on almost all domestic flights, consistently has First Class and Comfort Plus seating availability, and has one of the best status programs of any domestic airline. Plus, with the SkyMiles reward program, which allows direct point/mile transfers from American Express, it is easy to use both your credit card points and your Delta miles to travel further than you otherwise would’ve been able to!

Plus, while Delta Air Lines does not offer the same diversity of destinations as Frontier or Southwest, the tradeoff is a consistently better experience (and being able to select your seat) and more basic amenities than any of the other options! This is particularly true for traveling from Las Vegas to the major Delta hubs, Minnesota, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Boston, Salt Lake City, and Seattle, which will have frequent flights running daily; most of these locations will also have great international connections if you’re hoping to travel beyond the domestic USA.

4. Honorable Mention - American Airlines

We wanted to give a shoutout to one additional option for flying from Las Vegas: American Airlines. American sits largely in the middle of the price-to-amenities ratio, and only offers flights to a few select destinations, with a particular focus on the East Coast.

However, the reason that American Airlines deserves an honorable mention on this list is because of its seat in the Oneworld alliance. Not only does this allow you to earn and redeem miles on other Oneworld airlines, such as British Airways and Cathay Pacific. In fact, it can often be helpful to book American flights with British for good value point redemptions (or vice versa)! The Oneworld partnership is especially helpful if you’re trying to travel to Europe (and especially to the UK).
